Review an HD post from export to playback
A short review sequence before and after sending.
3 min read · Updated November 3, 2026A practical review to use immediately before confirming a post.
1. Check the edit before exporting
Play the edit from beginning to end, not only the opening shot. Check cuts, captions, crop, sound and any section using a different source. A single low-resolution insert can look soft even when the project itself has large dimensions.
Look at the frame edges and any small text on a phone-sized display. If a caption is hard to read in your local export, a platform rendition will not make it more legible. Return to the edit before continuing.
- The correct edit and version are open.
- Framing and text remain readable throughout the clip.
- Sound is present where intended, with no unexpected silent section.
- Slow motion and normal-speed footage play at the intended speed.
2. Check the exported file
Open the actual exported file in a player. The editor preview is not the delivery file. Confirm dimensions, duration and frame rate against the project’s intended output. Use a supported MP4 or MOV within the Fulres 2 GB input limit.
A larger export is useful only when it retains something you want. Do not upscale or increase frame rate solely to make the properties panel look more impressive. If posting rejects the file, use the stated requirement to choose a compatible export.
- This is the original editor export, not a messaging-app copy.
- The file opens and plays through locally.
- The dimensions, timing and orientation match the intended result.
- The file fits the selected preparation and posting route.
3. Review the preparation result
Wait for verification rather than assuming that selection means completion. The preview, track properties and status should describe the same file you selected. If preparation fails, resolve that error before trying to publish.
Choose the cover at a meaningful moment. The cover is a first impression, not a way to change the quality of the actual moving video. For inbox delivery, finish the cover review in TikTok.
- Preparation finished successfully.
- The preview belongs to the selected file.
- The cover is a clear, representative frame.
- The source export is still available if you need to restart.
4. Confirm the destination and account
Review account identity and audience with the same care as image quality. Inbox delivery leaves a publishing step in TikTok; direct publishing uses the settings you confirm in the composer. Demo controls are sample settings and cannot send a real post.
Read the current audience and interaction choices instead of relying on a previous upload. Account restrictions can change. If a permission is unavailable, do not interpret that as a quality problem.
- The intended account is connected.
- Inbox or direct publishing is selected deliberately.
- Caption, audience, interactions and disclosures have been reviewed.
- You are ready to confirm the actual transfer.
5. Record the outcome before retrying
A completed transfer is not the same as a visible public post. Follow the destination-specific next step and inspect the returned status. If the outcome is uncertain, check the inbox or profile before initiating another transfer.
When the post is available, keep its URL with the source filename. Check video can then describe the available stream evidence. Compare like-for-like observations; an unknown phone-app result should stay unknown.
| Problem | Return to |
|---|---|
| Softness or wrong crop in the local export | Editor and export settings. |
| Preparation or verification error | Source compatibility and the exact preparation error. |
| Missing audience or authorization | Connected account and permissions. |
| Unexpected published stream | The identified post, rendition and measurement method. |
